At the moment, I'm using the IDEAcomm Midrange Client. A typical Windows 3.1 era application. Loads of UI glitches and bugs, crude UI, some keys don't work as configured, etc. But at least it gives me an idea how things should look like.

I've never seen any enhancements to GDDM on the 400, probably because they never implemented the graphic 5292 in Client Access, and then with the rise of graphics packages in windows they probably considered it not worthwhile to try and keep low-res GDDM on a par with PC's.

That's also how I feel about it. Newer terminals never had GDDM capabilities, just "enhanced mode", which is an entirely different thing, protocol-wise.

Not surprisingly, I couldn't find any prototypes for RPG III nor RPG-ILE, so I don't like your chances, sorry.

Was prototyping even a thing with RPG III? I thought that came with ILE as a necessity for predefined ("bound") calls?
