Kevin,

We also started out with SPM several years ago. When SSA dropped the
product, we converted to Silvon's SalesTracker. A few year's ago we
upgraded to Silvon's DataTracker. The newest version of DataTracker is
called Stratum, and I believe it comes with some pre-defined categories
and views. We run the Stratum software, but we didn't convert to their
pre-defined categories and views because we had too much invested in
what we built ourselves. I'm not sure if Silvon has a Windows
server-based version of Stratum, but we are running the AS/400 version.

You didn't mention which version of BPCS you're running. If it's a 6.
or higher version, I would suggest comparing Stratum to Cognos, with the
analytics that are already built for BPCS. I can tell you that any new
data or category structures you want to build into Stratum will involve
a programming effort (if you're using the AS/400 version. I can't speak
to any Windows version). Depending on what you're wanting to add or
change, it could take as little as one hour, or as much as several
weeks.

I would LOVE to talk to someone who has managed a SalesTracker, SPM,
DataTracker, or Stratum installation on their AS/400 and has also
managed a Cognos installation. My gut feel is that the Cognos
installation is easier to maintain, but I have no concrete evidence to
support that.

If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer whatever I can.

softwareproduct

Hi Kevin,

This is not a direct answer to your question, but we use SPM (Sales
Performance Management) for BPCS CD.
SSA sold SPM as a BPCS module and it included all the required BPCS
interfaces.
However SPM was actually written by Silvon and was also marketed by them
as 'Sales Tracker'.
SPM is quite old now but works very well.

Regards,
Vincent

software product

I am working for a company that is currently looking at purchasing
Silvon's Stratum software product to do some analysis reporting in BPCS.
I wanted to check to see if anyone out there has used their product and
what they thought of it, Good or Bad.

Thanks Kevin W.
