We have had past discussion regarding alternative sources of
BPCS Reference Manuals from http://www.unbeatenpathintl.com/ and
www.dssolutionsinc.com and other places, BPCS classes from
http://www.ssaportfolio.com/company/education/ or www.ssagt.com, BPCS user
group conferences, BPCS newsletters.

Ask your computer department where you get your tech support & the billing
arrangements.  Some types of tech support are unlimited answer questions &
access to BPCS FAQ such as http://ogs.ssax.com/ for some fixed sum of money
per year, so that the company should get its moneys worth by having employees
heavily use those resources.

Also ask your computer department to walk you through the "search engine" of
the on-line documentation sub-system (menu DOC) ... basically it is using the
programmer tools of SEU & PDM, so if you get a hold of a cheat sheet or
manual on that, you then know how to work the "keyword search" of the on-line
documentation.

IBM has a redbook on BPCS but it is more for computer management departments,
not really into the nuts & bolts of BPCS applications.

You can print out the BPCSDOC members but they are poorly indexed in that
format.

It might also be helpful for you to get some regular education in
Manufacturing ERP logic independent of how BPCS implements the theory, or how
your company has implemented BPCS tailoring choices, such as from some outfit
like http://www.apics.org

Depending on your security clearances, you may have access to a list of BPCS
files & ability to do selective dumps of contents to screens to show you what
is in the data base.

But if you have limited time & money, in my opinion the BPCS manuals are the
best investment ... they cost like $250 - $350 each ... check with your
company, perhaps they already have some of them available for your review.
