Hello,

If you are on 6004, you can obtain the latest version of Newi via BMRs. We
have kept the runtime client/server communications layer separate from the
BPCS software. However, earliest releases did have some client/server
dependencies with the Newi code on the PC.

For 6002, the last version of Newi is 2.2.65.
For 6004 April Cume, Newi was delivered as 2.4.1. Version 2.4.2 was
delivered in the July BMR Bundle. This version can be upgraded to 2.4.3
(current). You must have the 2.4.1 level before starting to apply any BMRs
over versions of Newi shipped with 6004 BPCS.

For 6100, the version of Newi was delivered as 2.4.1_9 and can be updated to
2.4.3 (current) by getting the 6101 cumulative.

Use of the later Newi versions on 6002 will likely fail because of
incompatible changes with the BPCS Client software. Since the April 98
cumulative on 6004, the Newi server and Newi client software handle running
with mis-matched BMRs (ie, if the server is newer than the client, you may
not get the enhancement, but it will not break the communications with
BPCS).

The CONFIG file settings are used when BPCS initializes through Newi, and
contains the environment choices the user is presented with when starting
BPCS. If only 1 entry is in the file, the user will not get a list of
environment choices, and will go straight into the environment.

The library listed in the CONFIG file is where the BPCSMENU program will be
called. Therefore, the listed USO library should also contain a correct
INLIBL data area describing the BPCS library list (providing that BPCSMENU
also lists the same library name for variable used for the name of the user
library).

Thanks

Genyphyr Novak
