  • Subject: RE: INV300 History Delay

Hi Ho.

Installed the pool last weekend. Got 8 inches of rain in one day.
Pool almost broke. Has not snowed in three months, so can't complain.

Al talked about SYS800 (System settings). To be precise go to
SYS824D.

Inventory Transactions 500
Labor Ticket 90
Accounts Receivable History Transactions 90
Customer Invoice History Transactions 90

You will notice Inventory transactions set to 500 or 500 days. When running
INV903D and setting flags to delete ITH records the program will count back
500 days and purge all records greater than 500 days. Run month ends and
re-orgs where applicable.

We have about 800,000 records in our ITH file and the response time is not
bad.

Please note: We generate about 50,000 transactions a MONTH. Some companies
generate 50,000 in a couple of days. The setting is set to 500 for fiscal
and audit reasons. Depending on your companies needs for the history, you
could set the parm lower than 500 days.

Creating logicals is an option, but keeping base BPCS is a good idea,
specially when thinking of moving to a higher release.
