You need to ensure that your book is balanced - ie there is a check box on
the book maintenance window that should be on. You cannot maintain this
once you have created the book (the check box is "greyed" out) but you can
DFU the file and this will ensure that all journals being posted must be
balanced.

Subject: Balancing Journal Entries

We are 6.0.04 MM BPCS on the AS/400. Users had a problem with creating a
manual journal entry where the credits did not equal the debits. The event
was appoved and hit the system out of balance.

Is there a way to get the entry program to not allow events to be out of
balance? I checked and our balance point is set up correctly (I think).
We set it to our segment number 1 which we use as company.

We have audits in place to check for the following:
1. Journal headers and no lines
2. Journal header totals not equal journal line totals
3. Account balances not equal journal line totals

So we are able to catch this stuff but we would like to prevent it on the
front end if possible.

Any ideas?

Financially Challenged,
