A .HOD file is a 5250 session. You should be able to right-click and do an "Open With" to set the default program. If it's not in the list provided of installed programs, you can browse to the installation folder and choose the appropriate acslaunch_win-**.exe. I'm on Win7, so I can't give exact specifics for Win10, but I know it works the same way.

Subject: Trying to create desktop icons on my new pc

Hi everyone
I have been trying to download and install the latest version of IBM I Access Client solutions for a while, with no success Well - my windows 7 pc of many years is now slowly breaking down

Knowing how things go - it will probably break at EXACTLY the time that I need to access the AS/400

So I have been given a brand new pc - Windows 10

I have NOW been able to download and install the latest (I believe) version of IBM I Access Client Solutions (64-bit) Version 1.1.8.2 Build id: 9170

And I have been able to create access to both the production system AND development system I have also created access in the 5250 session manager for both systems The problem I am having is that when I right click each of those icons in the 5250 session manager to copy to desktop, I can click the desk top icons -but they do NOT work I receive a window asking me

How do you want to open this file?
Look for an app in the Microsoft Store

It looks like the desktop icon has created something with .HOD In other words Systemname.hod

I am assuming I have missed something
Can anyone give me any pointers?
