Exactly.  Brain dead.  

Lets see if I understood the points made:  AS/400 sales are outpacing
expectations.  AS/400 sales are generating both revenues and profits. 
More money is being spent on AS/400 advertising than on the other product
lines.  

The good "Business Case" conclusion can only be to bring the absurdly high
AS/400 advertising budget back into line.  The added benefit is the
probability of bringing production backlogs into line also, helping
manufacturing meet its' goals.  With a double benefit like that can we
doubt the wisdom of their decision?  Promotions and bonuses all around for
that good management, eh?
