With a prepared statement you need to compare your
select to be something like select * from filex
where field1 = "xxxx".  You could also use an
unprepared statement and use a host variable with
select * from filex where field1 = :rpgfield.  To
make sure you do not have an error check the field
SQLCOD after each SQL statement.  If it contains a
0, it worked.  If it contains 100, end of file. 
Other codes need to be looked up in qsqlmsg.  Take
SQL0 and append the absolute value of the return
code for the message ID.
