No easy way to do this, Buddy. RPG does not support "indirect addressing" for field names.

(It <would> be very handy and worthy of an RFE? Indirect addressing is possible on program calls, data areas, file names - but not field names. If we could code:
%(ADDR(Field1:*VAR)
it would be a great help!)

You've had a number of suggestions for alternative approaches. As Brad says, Dynamic SQL is probably your best bet with minimal learning curve.
