I didn’t use the “raw” APIs in this example - I used CGIDEV2 because I don’t like doing more work than I have to - but you’ll find a couple of working examples here: http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/ibmi/developer/rpg/web_service_rest

Doesn’t write the data to a stream file - but examples for doing that are plentiful.
