Sorry, I misread the issue.
I think there may have been such a directive under the old IBM HTTP Server which ended the CGI thread but on Apache I think you only get to control the timeout on the client side.
But if you were to log the input and output events then that opens the possibility of having an independent process that monitors that log for requests that have not completed within a prescribed time

I will like to limit the time (or CPU) allowed for each CGI request, in order to cause the bad programs to fail. Once I know wich programs are using to much CPU I can concentrate on them to optimize.

Is there a directive in the Apache configuration to limit the time?
I found one for PHP in Linux, but I don't know if I can use it for RPG
(CGIDEV) or NetData.
