I found the info on my system under
/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V7/ND/properties/WAS.product

However, versionInfo would report the version of the core product any any feature packs.

/QIBM/UserData/WebSphere/AppServer/V61/Express/default/properties/version/profile.version

I looked for versionInfo on my system and I can only find it here:
/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V6/Base/bin
/QIBM/UserData/WebSphere/AppServer/V6/Base/profiles/default/bin
/QIBM/UserData/WebSphere/AppServer/V6/Base/profiles/SYSINST/bin

Would this be right for a V7 server?

Probably the fastest way:

Go to QShell
Change to WAS_HOME/bin
Type versionInfo

It will print the installed version of the base product, along with
any feature packs.

I know that doing a WRKPTFGRP isn't sufficient to know the service
pack currently applied to your websphere. Because there is often an
install step like:
http://tinyurl.com/fixpack70-html

http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/software/websphere/wsapp
server/services/fixpack70.html

So, how do you check to see if that is applied?
If you have to check an individual server, is there some way to check
before you create one?
