It can. The IBM JVM fully support standard Java debugging (but the necessary flags are easier to set from QSH than from RUNJVA).

I've debugged Java programs natively on the i from my Eclipse on my PC, and it worked very well. Unfortunately the JVM crashes too regularily on V5R3, causing a hung process which in turn caused our backup not to be taken. I hope the issue has been fixed in V6R1.
