Correct, I was seeing if anyone was using this server to host JSP based web applications as well as hosting RPG web services which works pretty well.

I read this weekend and apparently you have to create a WAB (Web Application Bundle) file to deploy regular Java/JSP apps. And apparently there's not a nice Eclipse based way of creating them.

I'll check out the IceBreak Rest service.

My summary so far is this: On the surface we will most likely stick with Tomcat since it's an easy deploy and doesn't rely on a slew of PTF's to get it working correctly :-)

subject: Re: [WEB400] Anyone Using the IWS Server to Host Web
Applications ?

Hi Bent,

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I was wanting to see if Jim was doing
vendor hijacking of the thread. Richard was asking to know if the IWS
server could act as a replacement to their normal Tomcat pursuit. Jim piped
in with his statement that provided no useful information. I usually don't
care about this stuff except for this isn't the first time Jim has done
this.

Richard, to expand on Bent's comments, you should also know about the
IceBreak RESTFul Java "socket server" that Niels put together not too long
ago: http://code.google.com/p/icebreakrest/

I have not used IWS for serving up my own Java web apps, so I don't have any
experience to share there.
