If not I might try the JRuby approach to see if that works.

I need to spend some time researching it but don't have time at the
moment. A quick look at the gem folder shows a different version of
Glassfish, perhaps tweaked for JRuby.

A gem is just a deployment file, like a .war or .ear that contains the
needed code and libraries to run a Ruby app or plugin. The great
feature of Gems is that there is a known repository of Gems for Ruby and
so all you have to do is run:

JRuby -S gem install glassfish

And it will go out, find the latest version and either install it or
update it. Simple, easy to do, which is why I was running it as part of
my JRuby demo site.

I just don't have time to run down the issues at the moment. If you do
get it going, let me know. If I get a chance to figure out my issue and
get it going, I'll post back.
