Larry,
Glad to hear it!

The first thing I would do is get some good reference material.
And I just so happen to have a link.
http://www.amazon.com/IBM-Programmers-Guide-PHP/dp/1583470832 I am
somewhat biased towards this book, but the few people who have rated it
seem to think it's decent. This was written from a beginner's point of
view and touches on a lot of the things you will need to get started.

In terms of software, Zend Core is definitely necessary and Zend
Studio is really good for a full-featured IDE. You don't _need_ Zend
Studio, but it's good to have. You do not need Zend Platform, Zend
Server (it's not yet available on the i) or Zend Guard. However, once
you start building more "production-ready" code Zend Platform becomes
more pertinent, but not required. As for Zend Core, instructions for
installing Zend Core can be found here:
http://files.zend.com/help/Zend-Core-i5/installation_and_updates.htm.

Subject: [WEB400] Getting started with Zend

I think that I am finally ready to bite the bullet and move from
net.data to
Zend (PHP). Can someone help me with a few really basic questions:
What product(s) do I need from Zend? It looks like I need Zend Core
on y
server, and Zend Studio for development. Is that correct? I assume
I do
not need Zend Platform, Zend Server, or Zend Guard.
How do I download this? I understand that new versions of i ship
with
it, but I am loading this to a 5.4 machine
Is there a "getting started" guide somewhere? I've looked (quickly)
through the Zend site, but I am overwhelmed by the quantity of links
there.
