Is this more complicated than it appears, or am I just not seeing something simple?

I load a tomcat server on my Windows PC with a gig of memory and my application runs just fine.
I load the same server and application on a Linux machine with a 1/4 gig of memory and things bog down miserably.

What can I expect for performance if this is loaded on a typical small i Series? What should I key on as being the important item to ensure good performance on the i Series?
