Getting Tomcat installed on the i is about as difficult as unzipping the file. I haven't installed Tomcat 6 but 5.5 has worked great.

Depending upon what your default JVM settings are and whether or not you have something running on port 8080 you should be able to unzip it and start it. Period.

Couldn't be easier.

Trying it on a PC so you can "play" is equally easy, as David says. A good place to start.
