Does anyone know if there is a command line way to make an Apache instance start additional CGI jobs, but only on some days? We can normally run with about 20 CGI jobs to handle our workload but 4 times a year, when students are scheduling classes for the next semester, we need about 300 CGI jobs running. I would like to have the Apache configuration set to 20 but on these special days be able to start additional CGI jobs. I know one solution is to remember to change the Apache config the day before these special days and set it back when the day is over but I know that will be missed at some point so would prefer to write an app that checks the date and starts extra jobs if it is one of these days. The extra CGI jobs will start automatically but when they do the system comes to a halt until they start which creates some mad students. We have the same issue with the QZDASOINIT jobs (we use java in addition to CGI) but that can be adjusted with a CL command to set the number of jobs to start so I can script that.
