The issue isn't with you, it is with the rest of the world. IMO the IT
world in general is trying desperately to discover the next generation
user interface and they still haven't been very successful. Obviously
successful is a relative term, but I would define a new UI technology a
success if they could reach the same simplicity and efficiency that we
have with 5250 applications. Right now if you embrace ANY browser or
thin client based technology it inherently requires that you become
versed in a whole slew of other technologies (i.e. HTML+CSS+Javascript,
Silverlight, Flex, JavaFX, etc).

The thought I have been pondering the past couple months is "what really
is the issue with IBM i and why do people consider it bad". The obvious
answer is the look and feel. Note that has NOTHING to do with the
language or DB or OS, yet shops are willing to throw all of that
combination away and go to .NET simply because the look and feel of the
UI is quite right (well, ok, it is way not right :-) Fix the UI and we
have an incredibly viable machine that is second to none (a second time).

There's some opines for your Monday afternoon.... :-)
