the wire level. Implementing a web service is trivial in .net, and I
have to believe it's equally trivial in Java.
If it is trivial in .NET it is most likely because it is supported by the runtime libraries. It is not in the Java runtime, so you need a third part stack to implement this (and the devil is truly in the details). I have found the Apache Axis to be reasonably easy to make a web service out of an arbitrary Java class.

It might be a good code snippet to wrap a ProgramCall based on a PCML document in a web service? :)
