I know we're all just having a bit of fun here, but let's look at a couple of things. Java has been stated as strategic for IBM, and it's clearly still the case. WebSphere also - and still the case. What can you name since 2000 that's been listed as strategic and has since gone away?

And anybody who brings up SAA gets thirty whacks with an orthopedic shoe - that hasn't been an issue since I was at SSA (that's nearly 20 years now, kids). ("Objection - past prior acts can not be admitted." "Goes to a pattern of conduct, your honor!" "20 year old indiscretions are not valid in this court. Objection sustained.")

I know people like to ride the "strategic is doomed" train, but really, unless you have some new news, can we drop this old saw?
