What do people mean by the "view" or "presentation" layer? In a Web application, I gather that it means the "stuff" that runs in a browser; normally HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Then add "stuff" that runs in browser plug-ins; like Flash and Silverlight.
The presentation layer (the "V"iew) normally has the responsibility of presenting the data given to it by the "C"ontroller (in MVC). This is normally as HTML with the appropriate bells and whistles.

Basically you would consider anything that generates stuff to _present_ data to the user as the presentation layer.

Unless the EGL debugger is very very good, you _WILL_ end up having to investigate why some code does not work for user X running Windows Y with browser Z with some strange language settings, and it will again imply understanding what goes on in the generated code. Just so you know - it WILL happen :)
