Or cheat (as I have in the past.) You're on the System i when you issue
the command (obviously), and assuming the CGI app is also on the System
i:

Create a new table on the System i with two fields, one a key (say a
guid) and the other a _long_ text field. Then setup a new web page that
takes the guid key, looks up the text field and redirects. Then you can
use as long a string as you want w/out worrying about it. Just write the
long string into the database and use the short key on the STRPCCMD
command.
