IIRC we used the Apache certificate type with Verisign and had the
iSeries generate the certificate request text. Originally (this was at
V4R5 or V5R1) I had to add a PTF to the HTTP server to support the cert
from Verisign, but Support walked me through the entire process.

As to internal v. external IP, it doesn't matter. At least it doesn't
at V5R3, which we're currently running. The cert matches to the domain
name & not the IP. For instance, about 7 months ago we moved our
production web iSeries to a different subnet causing it's IP address to
change (actually we did a MIMIX role swap to a different system
altogether). Externally, the IP address was the same; we just NATted it
like you'd do to translate your external address to the 192. address.
The SSL processing on the iSeries was unaffected.
