Did you use the default config that CGIDEV2 sets up, or use the one that I
suggested in the manual? The "stock" one it creates is, to me, a mess. :)
I'd be happy to supply an easier one if that helps. Just email me privately

Bradley,
Thanks for the help, but that didn't work either.

The thing that confuses me the most is the path. Finding out where it is
getting /qsys.lib/citcgidev.lib/www as the path, would go a long way
towards fixing the problem.

Yes, change it to use include virtual instead of exec CGI.
that manual is getting a little out of date. I think I
wrote it for the classic web server IIRC.

Bradley,
Yes, I am using Apache on V5R4.

Actually this is part of your tutorial, Stone on CGIDEV2
and on page
9-13 it says:

" Because this SSI requires dynamic information (in this case, the
customer's name), a CGI program is required, which is why
this HTML
file is a template file. To embed this constant header in
displays,
use the following SSI in your other web pages: <!--#exec
cgi="/cgidev2/header"-->".

Are you saying that I can now use include virtual instead?

Here is what I am trying to accomplish. I have a program
that writes
information to a file. I have 12 divisions that will use
this program.
I need to change the *LIBL depending on the division so that the
information is written to the correct file for that division.

In researching this problem, everything I have read says I
need to;
hard code the library name, use the QIBM_CGI_LIBRARY_LIST
environment
variable or use the exec cgi command to call a program to set the
*libl. I don't think the first two will work, so that leaves the
third. I thought that if I could get it working in your tutorial, I
could then use the same logic to set the *libl for my program.
But then, like I say, I am very new to CGIDEV2 so if you or
anyone else has any other ideas of how to make this work I would
love to hear them.

Thanks,

Terry Anderson

Terry,

I assume you're using Apache
<http://archive.midrange.com/web400/200711/msg00029.html>
on a fairly recent version of the Os. If so, I
stopped using Exec directives for CGI a while ago and use include
virtual for all of them now. Try that and see if it helps.
