I've used Alan Seiden's recent article in SystemiNews to install Zend Core
and PmWiki.

While we like this Wiki, we feel the need to have something that is more
user friendly in terms of editing web page content. The codes used
within PmWiki seem to be pretty archane:

Lists: * for bulleted, # for numbered, :term:definition for definition
lists
Emphasis: ''italics'', '''bold''', '''''bold italics''''', @@typewriter@@
(monospaced)
References: [[another page]], [[http://www.example.com]], [[another page |
link text]], [[#anchor]]
Groups: [[Group/Page]] displays Page, [[Group.Page]] displays Group.Page,
[[Group(.Page)]] displays Group
Separators: !!, !!! for headings, ---- for horizontal line

I'm looking for a Wiki that would either have icons for formating
functions or support cutting and pasting from Word (with format
preservation). Googling leads me to the typical open source world: a
plethora of options with no real handle on what is a viable, "mainstream"
approach. I'd be most interested in:
- a PHP based Wiki,
- rich text editor that supports IE and Firefox,
- based on flat files, not a database
