I use application/msexcel-comma for CSV files and
application/vnd.ms-excel for actual Excel spreadsheets.

I especially liked ".pfunk"     audio/make.my.funk
The one I was wanting to verify,   .csv  is not in the list 
but I assume   'text/plain'
.xls had several possibilities
