how important is maintain the iSeries as the main server?
this is the first question.

develop in java if you'll try the "multi plattform" way.
develop in .NET if you'll follow MS way.
if you select one of these ways yu'll abandon the iSeries plattform more
soon or later.

if you prefer to use mainly iSeries resources then select the hard way.

Friday night is not a very good place for thinking seriously? maybe.

Walden,

Yes, I expect it will be.

I assumed that .NET was the new "standard" for MS so understand about
.ASP. It's just it was easier and cheaper to do our first attempts at
a decent app in .ASP.

Wish you had the time to provide your opinion but understand.

Thanks,

Oh my, this will be fun...

I don't really have time to go into details, but I'll throw this out
for
now, you're looking at .NET and Websphere, forget "classic" .ASP
pages.
The non-.NET asp is dead, MS's direction is clearly .NET, so forget
about the classic .ASP.

Oh, and I can't think of a better forum for this discussion than here.
