OK....partially solved by a call to IBM Websphere support:

You must have the host name and domain name configured in order for WAS 5.0 to run. Period.

Now, if I can just find HATS5LE.EAR file so I can try a deployment of HATS LE.....

Anybody out there actually get this combination to work?

I have a customer with a new i5 who wanted to try HATSLE so I went ahead and attempted to get the WAS 5.0 Express instance running so I could deploy the HATSLE EAR file. I can't even get the WAS 5.0 Express instance running.

Looking for someone who has gotten this to work and/or knows where to look for error logs in WAS 5.0 so I can figure out what is causing the problem.

This customer has all the latest CUME's and group PTF's applied, including the one that was release yesterday for WAS 5.0.

Any takers?
