James,

First you need to setup a validation list

CRTVLDL MYLIB/MYVLDL

In HTTP Admin Console:

Advanced, Internet Users and Groups:
to maintain the validation list entries

Manage, HTTP Servers:

Sample for config

Protect /myproject/* {
   PasswdFile MYLIB/MYVLDL
   ACLOverride Off
   Mask All@(*)
   AuthType Basic
   ServerID MY_PROJECT
   UserID %%SERVER%%

cheers

Subject: [WEB400] AuthType Basic on original http server

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use AuthType Basic with the original http server on iSeries.
This doesn't use SSL or anything fancy. I don't necessarily need to use
the same usernames and passwords as the normal iSeries equivalents. I was
thinking of something along the lines of Apache's AuthUserFile. Can
anyone tell me how to get the equivalent on the original http server?

James Rich

It's not the software that's free; it's you.
