Absolutely!  The ability of the browser to respond to individual
keypresses is one of the exciting things about the move from 5250 to
browser.  While you can still keep most of your old 5250 characteristics
(field editing, function keys, and so on), you can also add lots of neat
features that go above and beyond the 5250.  One of the ones that jumps
immediately to mind is the ability to bring up a date chooser; that's a
wonderful addition to any standard application interface.

At the same time, the fact that the browser interacts in block mode with
the server makes it easy to implement either server/client or a
client/server architecture.
