Peter,

Stick something like this in your <head>:

    <style media="screen" type="text/css">
      #layer1    { position: absolute; z-index: 1; top: 100px; left: 0px;
visibility: visible; }
      #layer2    { position: absolute; z-index: 2; top: 10px; left: 10px; }
    </style>
    <script>
      function downLoad(){
        if (document.all){
        document.all["layer1"].style.visibility="hidden";
        document.all["layer2"].style.visibility="visible";
        }
        else if (document.layers){
        document.layers.layer1.visibility="hidden";
        document.layers.layer2.visibility="visible";
        }
        else if (document.getElementById){
        document.getElementById("layer1").style.visibility="hidden";
        document.getElementById("layer2").style.visibility="visible";
        }
      }
    </script>

Then make your <body> look something like this:

<body onload="downLoad()">
    <div id="layer1">
      Message I want while Net.Data SQL is fetching records
    </div>
    <div id="layer2">
      Output from SQL
    </div>
</body>

The downLoad() javascript function should fire after the page is finished
loading, which hides the layer1 div and shows the layer2 div. It works
well in IE 6, not so well in Mozilla (if someone wants to play around with
this). Does Mozilla fire the onload event as soon as the page starts to
load? Maybe a way around this would be to call downLoad() at the bottom of
the page instead of in the onload event?

Hi list:

How you handle this situation? I want to display an image, or a text
message,
or both (I do not know yet) while the SQL command retrieves all the records
of a
file.

Is this possible?
