I copied your icon directly to my HTML base, and added the <link> tag, and
got the favicon on the first try, on the address bar. I used Mozilla for the
test. (IE acts weird for me at work.)

The /only/ thing I can think of that might affect this - I have the
following in my HTTP configuration:
AddType .gif image/gif 8bit
AddType .css text/css 8bit 1.0

I expected to find more content type lines, but only these two. I will look
at my Apache server at home to see if it has anything special, but I doubt
it.

Here is the relevant entries from my log:
10.121.17.116 - - [14/Oct/2002:14:38:36 +0600] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 2130
10.121.17.116 - - [14/Oct/2002:14:38:36 +0600] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1"
200 1406

I wish I could help more, but your icon works great on my box! Now I need to
create one for work.

HTH,
Loyd

I'm pretty sure the format is correct. More specifically, assuming the
format is correct (16x16x256), then what is the iSeries HHTP server doing
differently then say Yahoo or MSNBC's server since when you point to them
directly they display in the browser yet when I point to mine, IE shows me
the file download dialog box asking me to save or open the file.
