don't know what you're using (cgidev2, erpg) for your cgi.

below, is what the response to the browser given by the item cost update
cgi.  since it is directed to from whence it came (the cost change
window)
it closes that window and runs function refresh() in the 'caller' window
or
the item list window.

don't quite understand what you are doing with this.......

and of course, back in the item list window, you would have a function
called 'refresh()' that would resubmit the form to the refresh cgi
program.
