Thanks Rizwan.  I read one of the technical white papers, and took a look at
the IBM and Microsoft UDDI registries.  So far it looks like IBM, SUN,
Microsoft, etc. each have their own UDDI registry, which seems to defeat the
purpose, not to mention that it sort of narrows the meaning of Univeral in
UDDI.

Also, in randomly checking the web services offered by about 20 entries, all
I saw were web pages and email notifications.  And several indicating they
were simply test entries.  Which indicates it's still in it's infancy.

And both IBM and Microsoft require that you get a userid and password from
them before you are allowed to register your business.  MS seems to require
a Passport account.  So I have to register in order to register.  And in
order to get wide coverage, I'd have to double-register at each of these
"universal" registries.  Now what they need is a UDDI registry of just
publicly available UDDI registries.

Amazing how quickly a really good concept gets cluttered up.
