I get tons of junk mail all of the time. And I have no idea where it comes
from. The basic fear is that the sites that you give your address to will
sell your email address to somebody else and that is where the havoc starts.

Now try and get off of all of the lists that your address was sold to.
AHHHHHHHHHHH! It is terrible! I do have a "junk" email address setup at
hotmail and a separate one setup at onebox for personal stuff.

Just my thoughts,
Aaron Bartell

In Giovanni's case, I suspect it is so that he can demonstrate to his
management that his efforts have a world-wide audience. Given today's IBM
with it's "There's a charge for everything" approach he needs all the help
he can get to justify the site's existence.

Maybe - but I'm not sure that answers my question. Again - so what? - If
I'm worried about that I use (as I sometimes do) a free e-mail account that
has no connection with the "real" me. I would guess that my real e-mail is
registered with about 50 web sites. I have yet to see any unwanted e-mail
or anything else as a result - so what am I missing here? Maybe I'm just
too old to bother with being paranoid without some evidence that the
paranoia is justified.
