I have an RDi install at work and one at home.
My work install has my home grown plugin .jar file in ../plugins (I
know, not recommended). At home, I put it into ../dropins to test out
the recommendation. (I had to create that folder).
When I upgraded the work copy from 9.5.0.3 to 9.5.1, my plugin was
erased from the ../plugins folder (as is typical). But when I upgraded
my home copy from 9.5.0.2 to 9.5.1, the upgrade left my plugin in
../dropins intact.
So... if you write a plugin, put it in ../dropins and it will survive an
upgrade.
