Between mapping drives with NFS or (shudder) QNTC, you could even skip
that step. With the UDTF and a mapped drive he can do exactly what he is
asking.

Well you could do as someone above suggested ( Kevin I think ) and use a
stored procedure or user-defined function from SQL to get the data out
of the IFS but you still have to put/save the text data to the IFS
unless you are planning to have your function run some FTP to pick up
the file off your client machine.

of the file transfer step. Well, trying to incorporate it into the SQL
