If it's fixed width column layout why not just create the file on the system & simply FTP the txt file directly into it?

But, what I would call, "minimal" structure. Meaning, it either has to be delimited or fixed column layout. Any valid character delimiter is accepted -- including *TAB. For fixed column layout you must create a separate field definition file and feed it to the CPYFRMIMPF command.
