I have the exact same problem, and do the exact same thing. For some reason it starts working again afterwards (even though nothing has changed).

I wrote a user profile a while back. The biggest thing it does is trim
the trailing blanks off every time I open a source member. Except that
I must have missed a step somewhere. Since I installed 9.5.0.3, I get
an error opening every source member saying 'Class
"org.theway.lpexExtensions.UserProfile1" not found.

I haven't changed any of my preferences and it's in the same place as
it was before--the plugins folder of the SDP install.

Any ideas what I've missed or what I need to do to fix it?

This happens to me every time I upgrade and I'm ashamed to say that I have not investigated it. 'Normal' plugins like iSphere which have Features come along just fine - it's only these lone jar files that I copy into .plugins which seem to go wonky.

I just brute force it:
Close RDi
Delete the jar file from .plugins
Open RDi -clean
Switch to the Plugin Development perspective Export the jar file close RDi Copy the jar file from the export directory to .plugins Open RDi and it's working again for me

One thing I did not try is to delete and re-assign the user profile in Preferences > LPEX Editor > User Profile Maybe that's all that's needed?
