Remote System Explorer is the product default perspective so you might

unable to not have it showing.

IBM I Editing
Debug
DDS Design
SVN Repository Exploring
Remote System Explorer***

***-This is the one I don't want.

Change the preference for the default perspective.

Under Windows, Preferences, General, Perspectives 'Remote System Explorer'
will be selected as the default. But you can change it any one of the
perspectives you've listed that you do want to always be open--probably
'IBM i Editing'.
