Just to clarify a bit more :-)

9.0.0.1 - is a fixpack for 9.0 but Mike meant 9.5.0.1 for this license
issue.

If you install 9.5 today, it will not have a valid license applied (since
it is after Nov 9) and you will not be able to connect to an IBM i from
RDi. Applying 9.5.0.1, will give you 60-days. Applying the license
activation kit will give you a permanent license.

So, it doesn't matter when you downloaded 9.5. It matters when you
'installed' 9.5 (specifically before or after Nov 9).

Thanks,

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.5 trial and fix
Date: Sun, Nov 22, 2015 8:45 AM

Mike said:
Just to be clear here, if you have downloaded and now install 9.5.0.0
THEN
apply the 9.0.0.1 fix there is NO CHANGE to the trial license expiry as
it
will be based on the 9.5.0.0 trial license. If you need the trial to
expire after Nov 9 then you will need to download 9.0.0.1 and install
it.
However if you have a permanent license (Activation Kit) to install it
doesn't matter.

If you installed RDI 9.5.0.0 and find that the trial is expired and you
don't yet have your permanent license then open a PMR and ask for a
trial
extension.
===================

Just to clarify further, do you mean 9.0.0.1 fix -or- 9.5.0.1 fix ,
Mike? (Forgive me if I am misreading this.)

The Developerworks website implies that a PMR is _not_ required after
November 9th to extend the trial period:

I have tried this myself, since November 9th. IF RDi 9.5 is installed
THEN the 9.5.0.1 fix is applied separately there IS A CHANGE to the
licence period. (It changes from November 9th to 60-days.)
