Hi,

The NUMBER-ONE thing I like RDI 9.5, is that it has eclipse Luna! I can once again CONTROL the ACTIVE COLOR VIEW!!! YEAH!!!!

This is very handy when showing "Newbies", that they cannot compile the "Error-List View"... <grin>

My Method to change:
1.) Switch to Classic theme >Windows>Preference>General>Appearance -- Classic
2.) Change the Outline to your favorite color. I pick BRIGHT BLUE to match my daughter's eyes. <Big Smile>
a.) > Windows>Preferences>General>Appearance>Colors and Fonts
b.) Expand "View and Editor Folders"
c.) click on "Active part background end"
i.) click edit and pick a color, I picked BLUE....

So, when you do a compile, the view "Error-list" has the bright blue OUTLINE Border Color!!! <cool> Because it is showing your compiler errors!

I explain to the newbie, how to "compile" an "Error-List"? Hence why the compile option is grey out....

Click on the member tab to activate it, (F12-Active Editor, for the Advance users), and NOW it has the bright blue. And magically on the compile menu, your compile options are ACTIVE again.
<Big Smirk>

People who have not used an IDE before easily get confused by the different views. Yikes! This is probably the NUMBER one complain I hear, "Too many views/Windows" <sigh>

Yes, I "try" to keep it simple... But, they like to complain "Too many views"... <sigh>

What can I say? "Punch-Card-Types" DO NOT like anything that is NOT SEU or Punch Cards.
I don't know why they pick I.T. as their career field... <puzzled-Look>

Maybe they thought no one would get rid of Punch Cards or Vacuum tubes? <LOL>

Changing it back to Classic (From Rational IDE) works much better thanks Doug - it brings back the shadow split line etc. that I had before. Also makes the tabs show up better - but of course I haven’t yet found if it screws anything else up!

Jon,

There is a theme option.
Try changing the theme.
You might find one that works better on your system Doug On Nov 13,

After reading this Terry I really looked closely and you are right -
but the effect is so slight that I’m still dropping it in the wrong
place. Very slight thickening of the line is all I see. Nowhere near
as easy as on the old version - but I’m guessing this is an Eclipse “enhancement”.

Thanks for the hint.

Jon, when I drag the tabs to split the screen I get a (?) double

I have no CM software in my install and I have seen this several times.
Sometimes it is temporary and a click in the appropriate area
corrects it - other times I have to minimize/maximize etc. to get it
to correct. I have also found that with 9.5 the drag-the-tab method
for splitting the screen does not show up the arrowheads/blue outline
so it is really hard to know when you are in the right position.
