Hey Kurt,

I have done similar things with a saved workspace, but there are a couple of advantages to PTC that come to mind:
1 - this works across version updates of RDI. If you are like me and prefer a nice clean workspace after a new install, this should carry forward the standard settings.
2 - this also handles updates to the configuration itself. If your team decides on a new standard for RPLE formatting, the base workspace can be updated and saved to the server. Then when users connect to that server they will be prompted to accept the changes.

The current disadvantage I see is that there may/will be some items not saved by PTC, hence the RFEs.

I've been using a saved workspace that people copy to start from to pass the configuration along to everyone.
What kind of benefits does Push-To-Client have over that quick-and-easy method that would warrant the time to pursue PTC?

If you are not playing around with the Push-To-Client stuff, I strongly encourage you to check it out. If you want to have a 'standard' RDi configuration that is quick and easy to deploy then it can really help. It lowers the learning curve for new developers because their configuration is done automatically and set to match the standard you set for your shop.

Many/most settings are saved and deployed when a new client connects, including stuff like connection settings, filters, and custom compile commands. Some things are not saved though, so I setup a few RFEs:
