Speak and it shall happen!

I have come in this morning, booted my PC, started up the two instances RDi that I use and one of them has this problem. The delete key doesn't work in the editor. If I start typing with focus in my TN5250J session the text actually goes into the editor, even though the red outline on the TN5250J session shows that it has focus. When trying to run an SQL statement in data studio from a script in the editor the F5 key doesn't run the SQL which it normally does.

I shall leave this instance of RDi up and running and if anyone can suggest things to check to identify the cause or some kind of logging I can check that might help IBM find the issue then please speak up.

Best regards,
Mark

We do use the product. But not all day as you do, since we are developing the product in Java not RPG.
I have never seen the delete key or skipped character phenomenon.

Maybe the programmer switched jobs? One thing I've asked myself - and this mightn't win me friends at IBM - is, do the IBM programmers use RDi? There are a lot of niggles and bugs that anyone using the product would bump into and surely would want fixed.

Tim, I don't believe the "skipped character" phenomenon is related to
RDi
in particular. I know of at least two other (Windows) applications where that happens to me on a regular basis (and only ONE is Microsoft).

...hijacking my own thread..
Another annoyance I notice is the "skipped character". When I position
the cursor before a character and then type it will skip over the character I've positioned before and begin the typing after it. This goes back to previous versions and I REALLY hoped it would have been fixed by now.

Yes! It has happen to me... <frown>

Oh well, cannot repeat the situation that causes it. So, I cannot
open a
PMR. Because I get the "unable to duplicate"...

Sadly, it makes me doubt the product. But, at the same time, to fix
issues at my work-place, I need to be able to duplicate the problem, before I can fix it. So, it is understandable...

Pick your battles, just restart and continue on... <sigh>

PS. If you repeat the "condition" that causes it, please report it to
IBM support!

Has anyone else had the situation where the delete key stops working?
I
can't track down but it has happened several times to me. If I close down RDi it's back working again.
