Buck, is right on the money. I think we should be paying him sometimes :-)
So look for any yellow rectangles on the right hand side of the editor, if
there are any, click on them and there should be a corresponding yellow
triangle on the right hand side, that will tell you why the parser could
not parse this program.
It is quite possible that the parser is having trouble with something, so
sending us a PMR with the offending program would help us resolve it for
you and everyone else.
Then you can go to Preferences>Remote Systems>Remote Systems LPEX>IBM i
Parsers>ILE RPG and uncheck 'Update the Outline view when test is changed
in the editor'
This will give you the outline view based on the verifier. You have to
manually refresh it by hitting the refresh button as it won't keep in synch
with your key strokes and you lose some functionality like
hover/hyperlink/formatting.
That is why the PMR will help everyone get all of the bugs out of the
better parser so we all can have more fun programming.

For some reason, for this program only the Outline window is not being

It is a convoluted program, and that's why it needs to be documented.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to get this to work?

In the past, the Outline View sometimes got confused if the source code
had a syntax error, like a line I am in the middle of typing, or
something included in a /copy member.

Look through the source for squiggly underlines, and also down the left
side for yellow caution triangles. That's a hint that the Outline View
is seeing what it thinks are errors in the source code.

I have a vague recollection that there is a scenario regarding what
column code within a /COPY starts in, but I couldn't find it with a
quick peep at the archives. It's probably in a thread that drifted from
the subject line...

I definitely feel for you; I have some hideous programs that I've tried
with the Outline View but I'm afraid to say that I find a compiler cross
reference more reliable. I intend to open some PMRs when I get time to
catch a breath...
