Hi Brian.

Re the local help install, the process changed for this release to use the
standard eclipse delivery mechanism for installing new software.

Note that the ILE RPG Reference is already installed locally by default
with RDi. In previous releases, I think for many users, quick access to
this reference was one of the main reasons for installing the help locally
because it is integrated with F1 calls in the editor. If you wanted local
help primarily for this reference, it is already installed.

These links provide more information about the new local help install
process:

Hope this helps.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi 9.5 install questions
Sent by: "WDSCI-L" <wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Just downloaded the RDi 9.5 trial zips and completed the installation. A
couple of things I noted – just wondered if I am correct on these
assumptions?

- The trial period appears to have been shortened to 45-days, (not the
60-days advertised https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rdi/ that
we previously enjoyed).

- Local Help is not installed automatically. We now have to go through a
messy manual process, (“Install new software”) to download and install the
local help.

Is this as-designed?
