Copying items between filters probably doesn't work because the filters aren't containers to put/take things from. You have to place a source member in a source file, an object in a library, etc. so if one filter shows source members, you can only copy them to a different filter showing source files (and maybe libraries). At least, I think that is how it works - It seems to in practice, anyway.
